United Biscuits will invest 4 million euros in 2009 in its plant near Nantes Vertou after having invested 1.5 million euros in 2008.
This second step is to launch "two big projects innovation on our flagship products: the Choco BN and its little brother, the Mini BN" says Anthony Francheterre, executive director of United Biscuits for France, Belgium and Holland.
The details of these innovations are not yet revealed. Historical product, the Choco BN experiencing a strong erosion effect. The leader referred to "the competition of brands, the rise in raw materials and the media noise on the purchasing power."
With 4 000 tonnes against 200 at its launch in 1994, the Mini BN, revenues declined in ten, however, resists better than the big one. United Biscuits has stabilized in 2008 the production of nantais's factory to 20 000 tonnes by transferring production lines Snacks BN and Speculoos of Delacre.
